There's a glimmer of hope for our healthcare providers as the rate of COVID-19 patients hospitalized has dropped below 15% of total hospital capacity for 7 consecutive days in the Trauma Service Area that includes Titus County.
Less than a 15% hospitalization capacity for 7 consecutive days is Governor Abbott's benchmark for allowing restaurants and retail businesses within the Trauma Service Area to return to a 75% capacity of service. However, within Titus County, the number of active COVID-19 cases remains high, with 478 active cases yesterday.
Please do not relax your guard and efforts to keep yourself, your family and fellow community members safe and healthy.
That means keep up the 3 Ws:
- Wash your hands often;
- Wear a mask; and
- Watch your distance.
Also, data is showing that people who have had COVID-19 are able to contract the virus again. Please also continue your efforts to receive the vaccine if you have not already done so.
