Get ready for fun at the library!  Summer Fun programs and activities at the library begin June 16 and continue throughout the months of June and July.  Registration begins June 02, and all participants must have a valid library card at this library.  Scroll down for membership options.

Reading Clubs
 fizz boom read Read to Me
A club for little ones not yet reading. A parent or older sibling reads to the child. Read at least 4 hours each week to enter a prize drawing. One prize will be awarded each week.
Fizz, Boom, Read Club
Independent readers, kindergarten through age 12/ 6th grade read at least 4 hours a week to earn freebies from local restaurants and to enter weekly prize drawings. Two prizes will be awarded each week. Local buisnesses provide freebies for this program and supplies are limited.
Teen Read Club
Teens ages 13-17 years read and attend programs to enter weekly prize drawings. One prize will be awarded each week.

Based on the Book Film Series (Adults)
Read the book, then watch the movie and discuss both with other adults. All participants will be entered in a prize drawing to be held in August.

Programs and Events
There's something for everyone at the library!  Please choose programs from the appropriate age group.
 Story Time
Join Ms. Natalie for stories, crafts, and games chosen especially for preschoolers.  An adult must remain in the area with the child.
 Maker Station
Choose your supplies, then make something new from something old.  What you create is up to you!
Super Science
Explore science concepts through hands-on experiments and demonstrations. Program begins at 3 pm on Thursdays
  8-12 years Make & Take Tinker Space
Use real tools to create something new from something old! Make & Take supplies will be added weekly and are available onTuesdays from 2-5 pm. Due to safety concerns, children under 8 will not be allowed to participate in this program.
Random Acts of Fun
Keep an eye on the library's calendar and facebook page- you won't want to miss our "Random Acts of Fun" postings. Every week or so during the summer, we'll post a random activity- because you can't have too much fun! Activities may include bubbles in the garden, free snowcones or popcorn, Wii games, Lego Block Parties, and more.

Family Fun Programs
The library's family programs are loaded with books, games, activities, crafts, music and more, and offers fun for the entire family. Some programs are held after-hours  at the library. Please note that the library will not be open to the public during these programs and events; only active participants will be allowed inside the building. Check-outs and computers will NOT be available.
Summer Fun Kick-Off Celebration (June 16)
Kick-off Summer Fun with special activities, prizes, & crafts and a visit from Korn Pop the Clown.
     9am-11am     Sample new programs! Marble Madness, Block Party, and Fort Friday supplies will be available.

Popcorn & A Movie (June 20 at sundown)
Bring your blanket or chair and join us in the garden for a movie and popcorn. Don't forget the bug spray!
Bubble Mania (June 21 from 9am-12pm)
Bubbles, bubbles, and more bubbles abound at this family event. Create bubbles using some unusual materials-tin cans and socks, for example- or just use your own hands! This program is outside in the garden- don't forget your sunblock.
Fort Fridays (June 20- July 25 from 9am- 12 pm)
Drop by the library and build something! Different materials will be available each week, including PVC pipe, cardboard, newspaper, milk jugs, and more.This program is outside in the garden- don't forget your sunblock.

Swimming Party (August 09 from 7-9 p.m.)
Cool off at Dellwood Pool during the library's swimming party for registered Summer Fun participants.

A valid MPPL card is your ticket to Summer Fun, and is required to participate in Summer Fun Reading Clubs.The card must be presented each time a child checks out  books or other materials,  redeems a time card, enters a prize drawing, attends a program, or uses a computer.  Valid cards have current information (address/phone) and are free of fees and fines.
Options are available for kids and families who live outside of Titus County and would like to participate.

In-county residents may apply for a FREE card.
If the original card is lost,  a replacement card/key tag set may be purchased for $5. Replacement cards have no expiration date and may be used year round. 
As an alternative, a temporary card may be purchased for $2, and expires at the end of the program.
Anyone living outside of Titus County may choose to purchase an Out-of-County card for $20. 
OC cards are valid for one year and include borrowing privileges, program participation, etc. for the person to whom the card is issued. 
 Visitor Pass Any child or adult who does not have a card may attend a single program, other than the Reading Club or Swimming Party, by purchasing a visitor pass for $2.
TexShare Cards TexShare cards are not accepted for Summer Fun programs. Each child participating in Summer Programs must have an out-of-county card in his/her own name, or purchase a visitor pass to attend each program.
