The Mount Pleasant Police Department offers competitive salaries. Each position is listed below with their respective salary step plan. Annual salaries are based on years of service for officer and sergeant positions.  Command and civilian positions are on a salary merit system.

Certification Pay
When officers achieve certain levels of certification or assignment they receive extra pay as noted.


Extra Pay / Stipend

Intermediate Peace Officer $50 per month
Advanced Peace Officer $100 per month
Master Peace Officer $150 per month
Bilingual Spanish Speaker $50 per month
Field Trainer / Acting Supervisor $25 per week
K-9 $350 per month
Detective Clothing Allowance
Specialized Positions Phone Allowance
Longevity Pay  $48 per year (x) years of service

All MPPD patrol vehicles are equipped with Mobile Vision video/audio camera systems, Whelen LED light bars, mobile data computers, electronic shotgun and rifle mounts, Stalker radars and portable lasers.  Specialized positions have take home vehicles.
