The
food safety division is responsible for the permitting and inspection
process of all food service establishments within the city limits.
The staff will also review building plans for new or extensive remodeling
of food service establishments.
Food Service Permits
All food service establishments are required to obtain a food service permit, including temporary operations of less than 7
days. Food Service permit fees range from $25.00-$75.00, based
on type of establishment. For application forms for these permits

Food
Service Inspections
Routine inspections of food service establishments will normally
be conducted 1-4 times a year, based on type of establishment. To

Inspection Reports
All food service establishments are given a copy of their inspection
report. The reports must be readily available for the public to

Complaint-Based Inspections
In addition to routine inspections, complaints may result
in additional
food service inspections.
Health Cards
All food handlers must obtain a health card before employment. Health
cards are $2.00.
Certified Food Manager Required
Food service establishment may be required to have at least one certified food manager on staff.
