by Texas A&M University, the rescue school began in 1985 and has
been held the first weekend in May ever since.
Automobile extrication, rappelling, high angle rescue
and fireground search and rescue are some of the subjects that are
taught. It is attended, on average, by 107 students, both paid and
volunteer, from 49 different fire departments.
