"The things of Mt. Pleasant of which I am most proud are the varieties one finds here.  There is something for everyone.  I especially like our parks and recreational facilities; combine that with the lakes, the outdoorsman is especially satisfied.  The more sedentary type can find solace in the restaurants, movies, entertainment provided by NTCC (our local Community college), churches, or a quiet, undisturbed evening at home.  The Chamber of Commerce, Civic Center and Main Street Committee plan a variety of wholesome activities that can be enjoyed by all.  We are small enough that one can travel from place to place quickly; yet large enough that with minimum effort one is never bored."
