"Mount Pleasant is a progressive community that continues to develop the infrastructure to attract new businesses and tourists. Over the past few years, Mount Pleasant has seen the development of a new police station, a new city hall, two new fire stations, a new airport, and significant improvements to all of its parks. By the end of 2006 every street in Mount Pleasant will have a new overlay, and many streets have had major reconstruction."
"Within the City, Titus Regional Medical Center has made significant additions to its facility and is currently constructing a new cancer center. Mount Pleasant ISD has all new Elementary schools, a new Junior High school, a new football field, and major remodeling to its High School. Northeast Texas Community College, located just outside Mount Pleasant, has also added many new buildings to its campus. Finally, the Mount Pleasant Country Club has become a premier 18-hole golf course in Northeast Texas by adding a new back-nine holes and totally remodeling the front-nine holes."
"As you can see, a lot of great things have been accomplished in Mount Pleasant, but more is being planned for its future. The City recently broke ground on a new industrial park located on Interstate 30. In addition, the City is working closely with Titus County officials to hopefully build a new East and West loop within the next five years."
"I am excited about the future of our community and honored to have been chosen to serve you. For those businesses and families thinking about moving here, I encourage you to come find out what all the excitement is about and why Mount Pleasant has been named one of the '100 Best Small Towns in America."
