The award was presented at the 23rd Annual Texas Aviation conference held in Austin recently. Mount Pleasant Regional Airport, owned and operated by the city of Mount Pleasant, is a public-use general aviation airport located in Titus County. The city relocated the facility to a new location fully supported by the surrounding community. Facility administrators have successfully developed the commercial area of the airport and attracted six tenants, with ground leases at favorable rates for twenty-year terms. The airport is beautifully maintained and continues to be a testament to economic development and community supported projects. The Aviation conference was co-hosted by the Texas Department of Transportation and the Texas Airport Management Association. Participants included airport managers, city and county officials and the Federal Aviation Administration.
