Computers

The library has six public access computers in the Youth Services Department for completing homework assignments or for recreation. Software includes Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point. *Teens thru age 17 must be accompanied by an adult in order to access internet resources.

Homework First Program

Still need something "extra" to finish up that assignment? The library's Homework First program can help! In-house reference materials, internet access*, and some basic supplies are available to assist in completing projects. Basic supplies such as pencils, paper, scissors, etc. are provided in limited quantities. (Students are encouraged to bring their own supplies.)

Interlibrary Loan

Interlibrary Loans are an economical way to borrow additional resources from other libraries. Library members may request books, videos, audios and other materials by completing an ILL form at the main desk. If the material is available for lending, it will be shipped to our library, and may be borrowed following regular circulation procedures. Library member is responsible for return postage.

Tours

Group tours may be arranged for schools, scout troops, and others. All tours provide basic library information such as how to apply for a library card, using the card catalog, and locating materials. Tours may also include the Family and Local History Department or a walking tour of the downtown area. All tours must be scheduled in advance with the Youth Services Librarian.

Workshops

Workshops may be arranged for schools, scout troops, and others in small groups. Some previous workshops include Scrapbooking for Beginners, Basic Family History Research, and First Aid. All workshops must be scheduled in advance with the Youth Services Librarian.

Volunteer Opportunities

Volunteer hours look great on college and employment applications… and are much appreciated at the library! Volunteer opportunities may involve as little as two hours time, or as much as a year-- the choice is yours! Visit with the Youth Services Librarian to find out more!
