Library Staff

Library Board

The library board of the Mount Pleasant Public Library consists of five members who are appointed by the majority vote of the city council.

Board members recommend policies to govern the operation and programs of the library. They assist in planning, give guidance, assist in interpreting the policies and functions of the Library to the public and encourage the development and advancement of the library. Friends of the Library

The Friends of the Mount Pleasant Public Library is a non-profit, volunteer organization which connects library advocates and provides resources to strengthen library services.

The mission of the Friends of the Mount Pleasant Public Library is to enrich library services for the benefit of individuals and the community by promoting and supporting the services of the library.

Advocacy

• Increase public awareness of the library’s resources and services
• Inform community leaders of the need for adequate library funding

Fundraising

• Conduct Membership Drive during National Library Week
• Organize Book Sales
• Work in Friend’s Used Book Store
