Borrowing a book from another library through the interlibrary loan service is as simple as completing an ILL form at MPPL. A fee of $2.50 is charged to ship the item back to the lending library. Available items arrive in 1-2 weeks and check out for 2 weeks. Interlibrary loans are not renewable.
Library & Museum Tours
Library and Museum tours for schools, scouts, clubs, and other groups can be tailored to fit the group's curriculum or interests. Tours must be scheduled in advance.
A public copier is available. Black and white copies are 25 cents per page.
Income Tax Forms
Tax Forms are available in the Library lobby during tax season only. Forms not available in the library may be ordered directly from the IRS and mailed to a home address, or downloaded from the IRS website. Charges do apply to forms downloaded and printed at the library.
Many legal forms may be available in the Legal Forms database or at Texas Law Help.org. Forms may be downloaded and printed from these two sources. If printed at the library, normal print charges apply.
The library does NOT have pre-printed divorce packets or other legal forms.
Group Study Rooms
Two study rooms are available on a first-come, first-served basis for groups of 2-4 people, for no more than 2 hours per day. Children ages 8-12 working on group projects may use a room, but must be accompanied by an adult at all times. Small children are not allowed in the study rooms. Food and drink, other than water in a clear, sealed container, are not allowed in the library as per the library's conduct policy.
Program/ Community Room
A large community room is available for group meetings. Groups must be non-profit and meeting must be open to the public. Library programs take precedence over public meetings.The room may be booked no more than once a month, and no sooner than three months in advance. The room is not available in June or July. Please read the room policy, then come in to the library to complete the application.
